If you read our post about Washington’s Mysterious Invisible Bridge, then you know all about our rant regarding the large fine we suddenly owed for missing a toll and the campaign Bob waged about its unfairness.

Well… just the other day, Bob’s cell phone rang. It was our friendly contact in the Tacoma mayor’s office. He had an update he was sure we’d be interested to hear about.

We’re either much more influential than we thought or we were among many, many people who complained about that bridge and the subsequent fine. It seems that the Washington state legislature has now changed the law and those who miss the toll — at least under circumstances like ours — will be assessed the $4 toll instead of fined $52.

He told Bob he hopes we’ll be returning to Washington.

Now that they’ve changed the law, we look forward to going back. 🙂

Who says government doesn’t listen to the people?

We have to take these small victories when we can, don’t we?!? Thanks, Bob!
