River Canyon at the Canyon

Though we’ve looked at other places to stay while in the area, Canyon RV in Hungry Horse continues to be our favorite spot. Dee made us feel welcome from the minute we got there last year and this year coming back was like coming home!

Canyon RV  is beautifully shaded and its location is perfect for accessing Glacier National Park to the east and Hungry Horse, Kalispell, the Jewel Basin, and other great places to the west.

Another big plus is access to the river that runs behind the park (I think it’s the Middle Fork of the Flathead River…).

Some folks might find the stroll down to the water a bit steep, but being close to the river is worth it!

And when the route up Going to the Sun Road is still plagued with long construction delays…

…only to arrive at parking lots that are full, shuttle waits of 90 minutes or more, and the best thing you can say about the three hours or more you spent driving into and then back out of the park without ever getting out of your vehicle was the mountain goat you happened to catch sight of…

…and the striking views of the Rocky Mountains you see out the windows as you sit in traffic…

…then you appreciate even more the calm peacefulness of the river that flows behind the scenes in the Canyon RV park.

Thank you Dee and Steve Brown for another great visit!
