Back to Alaska?!?!?

With our newest Jeep in tow, off we went. But where? You’d think with these stunning, snow-capped mountains we were back in Alaska:

This gorgeous range…

…and lingering snow at higher elevations…

…sure made us think we were re-tracing last year’s tracks in the far north.

But we were still in the Lower 48, wheeling along the foothills of the Rockies in Idaho, then Montana, where we caught sight of several herds of Pronghorn…

…plenty of cattle, sheep, and deer…

BackAK5
…but what did we spy that we hadn’t seen in all of our months of traveling in Alaska that we finally spotted in Montana?!?

BackAK6

Elk!

Herds of them!

The local Montanans loved hearing that we’d been to Alaska in 2013 but had to come to Montana to see an elk.
